Three Thousand Years of Longing: A Movie

E J says…

This is a rather strange movie, more interesting for its spectacles than anything else. A professor of folktales and legends is in Turkey for a conference. At the bazaar, she buys an old dirty bottle. As she cleans it in her hotel room, a djinn is released.

Much of the movie is his story going back thousands of years. It has some nice visuals. Probably this movie is not for the little kids. It’s not really all that explicit, but it skirts the edge.

The characters are a study in opposites.
