E J says …
The last night warden patrols the streets. Grey and Koda, his sidekick, do their best to keep humans safe. The unit was disbanded, but Grey continues to patrol – every night. It’s who he is.
He runs into his share of trouble. Every night, he could be killed by the menaces that roam the streets. Unappreciated, he continues because of his principles, because this is what he does.
It doesn’t help that the night wardens themselves kicked him out before they were disbanded, but that little detail doesn’t deter him.
The book is dark and gritty. The monsters are horrific, and all humans are indebted to the likes of Grey and Koda for keeping the streets safe. The second two books in the series are equally good.
