This excellently written series had me just sitting back and enjoying the writing. The descriptions are lush. Amazingly, the quality of the writing never falls down all the way through the series. Super impressive. The editing is superb as well.

As in many other fantasy worlds, those with magic sit at the top of the social hierarchy. The story world consists of three different Londons with different levels of magic. They interact in tragic ways to bring about disaster for the most normal and nice London.

The main character is a messenger between these Londons. He has some cool magic to accomplish these feats. But his kind is disappearing. The story gets convoluted and romance becomes part of it. New Magics are introduced.

But the writing is the real reason to read it.
